BRiCE Project DRC and Niger: Midline Report Teacher Wellbeing and Teaching Quality in Fragile and Conflict-Affected Contexts
The Building Resilience in Crises through Education (BRiCE) research project, led by the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and the Institut Supérieur Pédagogique de Bukavu (ISP Bukavu), aims to understand education in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. Funded by the European Commission and led by Save the Children, the project explores how violence impacts teaching quality and wellbeing, the effects of Teacher Professional Development (TPD) and Improving Learning Environments Together (ILET) on these factors, and their influence on children's outcomes. The study, conducted in Niger and the Democratic Republic of Congo, highlights the role of employment status, gender, and social position in shaping educational experiences and outcomes in crisis and violent contexts.
