BRiCE Project DRC and Niger: Endline Report Teacher Wellbeing and Teaching Quality in Fragile and Conflict-Affected Contexts

The Building Resilience in Crisis through Education (BRiCE) research project, led by the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and the Institut Supérieur Pédagogique de Bukavu (ISP Bukavu), evaluates the impact of the BRiCE education programme in Niger and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Funded by the European Commission and led by Save the Children, the project focuses on Teacher Professional Development (TPD) and Improving Learning Environments Together (ILET). The endline report examines teacher wellbeing, teaching quality, and the effects of violence on education in conflict-affected regions. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study addresses four key research questions related to the influence of violence, the impact of TPD and ILET, and the effects on children's cognitive and non-cognitive outcomes. The findings provide insights for policy and programming in conflict-affected educational contexts.
