Teacher professional development in the Arab States during the COVID-19 pandemic

This study, commissioned by UNESCO Office Beirut, analyses the situation of teachers in several  Arab countries during the COVID-19 crisis. Given the importance of teachers as leaders and agents of change, the purpose of the study is to capture the challenges teachers faced, as well as their innovative responses and the ways they can be supported through effective and forward-looking teacher professional development.

The study relies on interviews and focus group discussions with teachers and educators in five countries: Egypt, Jordan, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and Tunisia.
