National Professional Standards for Teachers in Pakistan

This document provides a characterization of the Pakistani teaching staff and schooling system, providing therefore information about recruitment and training needs on the national territory. Ten standards for the preparation of teachers are established based on the previously stated key issues to ensure quality education. Each professional standard is divided into 3 categories: teachers’ knowledge; targeted behaviors and values amongst teachers; and teachers’ skills.
