National Framework on Social Dialogue for Teachers in Zambia
The purpose of the National Framework on Social Dialogue for Teachers in Zambia is to provide a structure for organizing and managing dialogue between teachers on one hand, and government, union leaders, education agencies and other stakeholders, on the other hand. This is with the view to:
- institutionalise social dialogue for teachers in Zambia;
- promote the involvement of teachers, key partners and the public in decision making;
- strengthen the linkages between social dialogue, policy formulation, professional development and research in education;
- promote sound industrial relations in the education sector, which is one of the biggest employers in Zambia;
- address the current challenges of labour relations and employment matters in the education sector, with the support of the social partners and the Ministry of General Education;
- guide the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the social dialogue for teachers in Zambia.
